Who we are

This policy covers the AutoBazaar website, the AutoBazaar mobile app and the FairPrice ride app, run by AutoBazaar, No: 7, PHR Road, Kathirvedu, Thiruvallur - 600 066. "We" and "us" in this policy mean AutoBazaar.

What we collect and why

Your website account

• To sign up we ask for your name, your 10-digit mobile number and your area (district and locality). To sign in we ask only for your mobile number.
• We confirm the number with a one-time code sent by SMS. The code works for 10 minutes and only once.
• In My Account you can add or change your name, an email address (optional) and your area.

Vehicle enquiries, quotations, test drives and loan requests

• We collect your name and mobile number, and anything else you choose to add: email, city, pincode, the variant you want, a message, a preferred test-drive date and time, or a loan amount.
• With each request we also record the page you sent it from and your IP address, so we can follow up and prevent misuse.
• Some requests ask you to confirm your mobile number with an SMS code. Confirming it signs you in, and creates a website account for that number if you did not have one.
• If you give an email address with a quotation request, we email the quotation PDF to it. The quotation link we give you stops working after 15 days.

Reviews

• When you write a review we store your name, city and mobile number (if given), your rating and text, and your IP address.
• A review appears on the site only after we approve it. Your name, city, rating and text are then public; your mobile number is never shown.

Accessory orders

• For delivery we store the name, mobile number and address (with city, district, state and pincode) you enter, the items and amounts, and your IP address. You can save addresses in My Account for next time.
• Shop orders are paid by Cash on Delivery, so we do not collect card or bank details for them.
• Updates on your order are shown in My Account under Notifications.

Contact and support forms

The contact form and the support form in My Account do not save your message on our server. They open WhatsApp with your message and details filled in, and nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp.

The AutoBazaar app

• Your name, mobile number, area and an optional profile photo.
• A device token, so we can send you notifications.
• For drivers:
  • Your location while you are available for rides.
  • Driver profile details: date of birth, gender, blood group, vehicle number, brand and model, licence, RC, insurance and permit details.
  • The documents you upload: licence, RC, insurance, permit, fitness certificate, police verification and Aadhaar. Documents are kept in private storage that only our staff can open.
• New-auto enquiries and quotation requests made in the app are copied to a Google Sheet our team works from. The copy includes your name, phone number, area and the vehicle you asked about.

The FairPrice ride app

• Your name, mobile number, gender and date of birth, and the family contacts you add (their names, mobile numbers and relationship to you).
• Your location, and the pickup and drop points of your rides.
• Your ride history, payments and cancellations.
• A driver sees your phone number only after accepting your ride.
• If you press SOS, an SMS is sent with your name, your location and a number to call.
• Chat messages between rider and driver are deleted automatically after 48 hours.

Cookies and browser storage

• The website sets two cookies that it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and holds your cart, and a security cookie (XSRF-TOKEN) that protects forms. If you choose a language with the English | தமிழ் switch, a third cookie (site_lang) remembers that choice for one year.
• A session ends after 120 minutes without activity.
• Your browser also keeps your comparison list and your chosen location. This stays on your device; clearing your browser data removes it.
• We do not use advertising or analytics trackers on the website.
• Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

Who else handles your information

We do not sell your information. We share only what each of these services needs to do its job for us:

• Our SMS provider delivers sign-in codes and SOS alerts. It receives your mobile number and the message.
• Google Firebase delivers app notifications. It receives your device token and the notification.
• Google Sheets holds the copies of app enquiries described above.
• Google Maps / Routes helps work out FairPrice road distances and fares. It receives the pickup and drop coordinates.
• Razorpay processes FairPrice payments (ride payments, and driver wallet and subscription payments). Card, UPI and bank details are entered with Razorpay and are not stored by us.
• WhatsApp carries any message you choose to send us there, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
• Our hosting provider runs the servers the website, apps and database run on.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example to answer a valid request from the police or a court.

How long we keep it

• We keep your account, enquiries and orders while your account is active, so your history is there when you come back.
• App sign-ins that have not been used for 90 days are removed automatically.
• FairPrice chat messages are deleted after 48 hours.

Your choices and closing your account

• You can see and change your name, email and area in My Account, and remove saved addresses there.
• To close an AutoBazaar account, use the account deletion page. For a FairPrice account, use the FairPrice account deletion page. You confirm with a code sent by SMS.
• Closing an account takes effect at once. You are signed out of the website and the apps, and your used-auto listings stop showing.
• Closing an account does not erase your records. Your orders, enquiries and listings are kept, and signing in again with the same number reopens the account as it was.
• If you want your information erased rather than kept, or want a copy of it, contact us using the details below. We will tell you what we can erase and what we must keep, for example records of orders.
• You can turn off app notifications and location access at any time in your phone's settings. Some features, such as booking a ride, will not work without location.

Keeping it safe

The website is served only over HTTPS. Sign-in uses one-time SMS codes rather than passwords. Driver documents are kept in private storage, and only staff who need to see them can. No system is perfectly secure, so if you think your account has been misused, tell us straight away.

Changes to this policy

When what we collect or who we share it with changes, we update this page and the date at the bottom.
